Setting Up Availability

Configure when your resources are available for bookings.

Availability rules tell Vastali when each resource is open for bookings. The engine uses these rules to generate time slots automatically — you set the rules once and the system handles the rest.

Creating an availability rule

  1. 1Go to Schedule → Resources tab
  2. 2Click on the resource you want to configure
  3. 3Click Add Availability Rule
  4. 4Select the day of the week (or set recurring across multiple days)
  5. 5Set the start time and end time
  6. 6Set the slot duration — this is how long each booking slot is
  7. 7Set the buffer time — minutes blocked between sessions
  8. 8Click Save

How slot generation works

Once rules are saved, Vastali calculates all available slots within a 14-day rolling window. For example, if a resource is available Monday to Friday 8am–5pm with 60-minute slots and a 10-minute buffer, the engine generates slots at 8:00, 9:10, 10:20, 11:30, and so on.

Blocking time off

To block specific dates (bank holidays, deep cleans, holidays), use availability overrides. Go to Schedule → a resource → Add Override. Set the date and mark it as blocked. You can also set custom hours for a specific day if your hours vary.

Changes to availability rules take effect immediately for all future dates. Existing confirmed bookings are not affected.

Multiple resources, different hours

Each resource can have its own availability rules. This lets you run different operating hours per bay, room, or member of staff — for example, if one cold plunge bay is available 6am–10pm but another is only available 9am–5pm.
