How Slot Generation Works
Understand how Vastali turns your availability rules into bookable time slots.
Vastali generates booking slots automatically from your availability rules. You don't need to manually create slots — set the rules once and the system produces a 14-day rolling window of available times.
The slot generation process
- ✓For each resource, Vastali reads its availability rules (days of week, start time, end time, slot duration, buffer)
- ✓It calculates all possible slot start times within the window
- ✓It checks each slot against existing confirmed bookings to determine remaining capacity
- ✓Slots with zero remaining capacity are shown as unavailable (but still visible to allow waitlist joins)
- ✓Availability overrides (blocked dates, custom hours) are applied on top
Example
Resource: Cold Plunge Bay 1. Available: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm. Slot duration: 60 minutes. Buffer: 10 minutes. Capacity: 2.
This generates slots at 8:00, 9:10, 10:20, 11:30, 12:40, 13:50, 15:00, 16:10 each weekday. Each slot can hold 2 concurrent bookings. Once 2 bookings exist for a slot, it shows as full.

Why slots might not appear
- ✓No availability rule exists for the resource on that day
- ✓The date is outside the 14-day booking window
- ✓The date has an availability override marking it as blocked
- ✓The booking window closes too early (e.g. bookings close 24 hours in advance and the slot is within that window)
- ✓The service is not linked to any active resource
Tip: If slots are missing unexpectedly, check that the service is linked to a resource, the resource has availability rules set, and there are no blocking overrides on that date.
